The Moody Surname y-DNA Project is working with FamilyTreeDNA to test male descendants of the many Moody-surnamed families to answer the above questions. Markers on the Y-chromosome are analyzed to create numerical values for each marker; these values can then be compared to determine the likelihood that the participants share a common ancestor.

Please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions page for answers to general questions about this project, Y-chromosome DNA studies, and for links to further information. You can also email me (Bob Moody) directly.

Paticipation

Please look through the Frequently Asked Questions page and then contact me. To get the discounted group rate on testing ($40-50 off the regular price), the test must be coordinated through the Moody y-chromosome DNA Project. This will also help prevent two closely-related individuals from unintentionally signing up. It takes little time to check to be sure your results won't essentially duplicate another participants and then to order your test kit.
